About Hospital Overview

Learn Who We Are and How We Care.

Our History and Growth

Millinocket Regional Hospital is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) healthcare organization. The hospital corporation was founded in 1952, and the current hospital location opened in 1955 as Millinocket Community Hospital. The facility was expanded in the mid-1970s and again in the mid-1990s to meet growing community needs. The board of directors later approved a name change to Millinocket Regional Hospital to better reflect our regional service area.

Leadership & Governance

MRH is governed by a 17-member board of directors comprised of citizens from the communities we serve. A listing of board members can be found here. As stewards of community interests, the Board meets ten times per year to oversee the implementation of the organization's
strategic plans.
