Why I Chose MRH: In addition to my full-time role as the Chief Medical Officer at The Jackson Laboratory (JAX), I wanted to maintain a practice in a rural setting. The project I primarily work on for JAX is also about impacting rural cancer care in the entire state of Maine through cancer genomics. When this opportunity presented itself in 2017, it allowed me to fulfill my full-time role at JAX as well as my desire to practice. Practicing at MRH gives me the opportunity to stay in contact with what’s happening in the community and take care of rural cancer patients.
